Until now I've been using Xy on a Windows 98 platform.
I have a new computer, a Compaq presio/ Windows XP.
I was unable to use XyWrite, is there a quick outline on how do to this?
Courtesy of a recent post from Leslie Bialler [NB: this is for a
FULL-SCREEN setup, not for running XyDos in a window or so-called Dosbox
with special fonts]:
Again, from the archives, to get XyWrite to run full screen in XP:
Before Xy3+ [or Xy4] is running, open Xy3+ Properties and on the Program
tab, set "Run:" to Maximized instead of Normal, so that window always opens
maximized. Now launch Xy3+ [or Xy4 Dos] in a window. RightMouseButton on
the Taskbar (the upper blue bar of the window) ==> Properties ==>
Layout. In Screen Buffer Size, set Width=80, Height=25. In Window Size,
set Width=80, Height=25. Close Properties, telling the system to modify
the shortcut and remember these settings.
Now check that XyWrite Default SL (Screen Length)=25. It should default to
that anyway. Close Xy, then reopen it.
