Typographic symbols for Japanese aren't available in standard
character sets because Americans are unaware of Japan except when
bashing it. Despite my high regard for Hungarians, there are
rational arguments for giving up a couple of uniquely Hungarian
diacritics to make room for the two Japanese macron letters.
In any case, within two years Unicode will take care of this on the
PC. It is already available on Macintosh.
