Mike Gawdun:
Are you kidding about XW 4.12 not offering an elegant way to
assign keyboard shortcuts? If you have an XYDOS keyboard you
like, you can copy anything on it into your XW keyboard without
learning anything new. You can assign any function call directly
(Manual, pp. 18-56ff for a list). If there isn't one, you can
assign any command you would type on the command line. For
instance, if you have an address file in the XW directory that
you want to open in read-only form with ^A, you put on the ^A key
bc,r,e,a,d, ,a,d,d,r,e,s,s,xc
It takes something fancy indeed to require even simple
programming.
And you can download from this list some highly customized and
fully documented keyboards that you can copy assignments from.
