This is as good a place as any to cite a tear sheet recently found
in an old file. It's the acknowledgements page from an unidentified
paperback, published perhaps in the early 1980s.
The author gives the usual fulsome thanks to professor, library,
publisher, editor, wife, children, friends, agent, & speckled dog, &
also to word-processing software & computer (no trade names given),
but he specifically excludes the makers of the computer, 'who were a
pain in the ass.'
Thus I suggest that each XyWriting author spare a line or two in
front matter for XyWrite & its authors at XyQuest. A hotfoot for
the undeserving would remain optional.
