Ed Y.:
Most of the XyDOS appurtenances can be used directly in XyWIN.
You can load the same keyboard (although you might want to change
a few keys), dictionaries, templates, etc. XPL is identical,
although someone who has used it more than I have for XyWin may
find additional functions work in the latter. I suggest you
order CATALOG.DOC from the list server to see what files are
available, and then order
XWCOMP, a file that lists the few differences between XY and XW.
As for converting NB files, there are a few differences, mostly
small, such as MDIT rather than MDRV for italics. I changed over
to XyDOS 3 years ago, and used a simple XPL program (essentially
a macro) to convert. Someone willing to go to a little more
trouble could do the whole job in one go rather than calling up
the files one at a time. I basically did it as I used files, and
did the remainder at one time.
