To change the overall height of the format bar, you can change the FH setting
in the XWSET.DFL file. By default the setting reads: DF FH=20,20 where the
first number is the overall height in pixels of the format bar and the second
setting is the height of the buttons. You may want to try a settting of 27,25.
If you wish to increase the size of individual buttons on the bar, this can be
done through the XWUIF.UIF file. Call this file to screen and search for
[format bar]. This will take you to a table which supplies the specs for the
size of the individual buttons. To change the height of the Bold button, for
example, you would change the number in the fifth column. Currently this is
set to 12, try setting it to 14 to increase the height of this button. If you
find that the superscript/subscript button has too much space between the two
options, you can decrease this by decreasing the number in the third column.
The setting is currently +6, you can change this to +4 to make the superscript
and subscript buttons closer together. Let me know how you make out with this.
