RE: XyWin and Windows XP

Several of us have had this problem and none have found a reliable fix. (I
had reported the problem as manifested on my new Dell in a December 29
[post, shortly before my office's computer-monkey imposed that accursed
autoresponse on my computer, for which I apologize to the list.) XyDos and
Nota Bene seem the only viable options.

My office's computer-monkey had tested XyWin on his own box and had it
running prior to installing MS Office on it, at which point it could no
longer start. Removing Office and disconnecting from the LAN allowed it to
run again, and thereafter it would run even when logged on to the LAN. He
suspects some Office shared component's dll may be the problem but is unable
to figure out which it might be. His tricks don't work on my machine. The
best I could do is two seconds of blank screen after setting compatibility
to a prior OS; otherwise I get no response whatsoever from trying to launch
XyWin. YMMV.

Subject: XyWin and Windows XP

This is a problem probably already covered here, so could someone point me
in the right direction?

Is there a problem with XyWin and Windows XP?

I always thought that XyWin was simple and did not use the registry, so I
just copied my XyWin folders to my XP computer but nothing happens when I
try to run it. I am missing something, but what?
