MS Word 2.0 was the first computer program I bought for my IBM AT. It was a great DOS program (support for multiple fonts, graphics view showing italics and bold with a Hercules Plus monochrome graphics card, and mouse support, which I did not use at that time). I eventually upgraded to version 5.0, which was the latest version using the good old interface suitable for the original AT keyboard. Version 5.0 suffers from the Y2K bug, which means you have to set the system to the 1900s. This can be achieved using Virtual PC without distrupting the host system. This is my preferred Word. When I have to read modern Word files I use Word 2000 handed down to me with an old computer.
