Screwy Fonts

This has been a bad fonts week for XyWin and me. First I installed XyWrite
for Windows onto my new OS/2 system at home and promptly ran into a problem
of missing 's's and 'f's in the directory listings. That problem went away
I'm not sure how. Next I started getting a strange, unreadable font at the
prompt line. It looks strangely like a CGA font, even though I'm supposed to
be in 1024x768. It won't display some characters some of the time, and never
looks good. That problem remains unsolved.
Now my computer at work is giving me problems. I just replaced the video
card and driver and now XyWin won't display anything in the text window.
Zero. Everything else, even the prompt line, looks fine.
Can anyone give me a pointer on where to start looking for the source of
these annoyances? The Windows system .INI files?
