I've also noticed this from the very beginning when I changed from
Xy 3+ to 4, and I do think it's annoying, but I wouldn't go quite
as far as calling it a "disastrous error". My workaround is
similar to what you describe, namely insert a space and then take it out again.
This can be easily accomplished by tacking a ", ,BD" to the line
in the keyboard file that executes the CC command. I sort of took
this as the downside to the _positive_ change that Xy4
introduced, namely not letting me ABort a file to which I had
made changes without prompting.
In Xy 3, I would sometimes hit my AB,XC key by mistake before
saving changes I had made to a file.
