While I don't doubt that Xy can be useful in such instances, I think any
number of DOS-based file viewers or listing programs--such as
LIST--could do the same or even better (ignoring the end-of-file
character ASCII 26, loading very large files faster than X3 can,
allowing you to switch between hex, binary and text format).
