Judith:
If you go to the following site you will see one part of a more or less
permanent solution, a 10Gb replacement hard drive with an installation kit.
http://www.valuesites.com/store/showprod.cfm?&DID=10&CATID=25&ObjectGroup_ID
=166
Also, while you are obout it, you may want to look at upgrading your memory
to the full amount your the system will hold.
It seems your system will take two banks with one each of a 64MB chip for
$21.99 (total $44.00)
This would give your memory slots max memory.
Info on this is at:
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?Mfr%2BProductline=Dell%2BInspiron
&model=Inspiron+3200+Series&x=10&y=15
With a little care, you can do both these options.
Your 266 Mhz machine is very well matched for the work it appears you are
doing, so this will extent the life of your system and give you better
performance for relatively little money.
Let me know if you want any help.
