Re: Rescue Xy3
Myron,
In the days when laser printers were big and expensive, whenever I was
ready to produce an important finished document I'd wander around my place
of employment to borrow a computer and LaserJet from any of several offices
that were better funded than mine. With XyIII, I usually carried one disk
with me (and for quite a while it was a 5" 360K).
Now, with new laser printers going for old dot matrix prices, my wanderings
have ended. XyDosIV is much more capable at many of the finer points of
type design for which I coveted laser printers in the first place. But I
do miss the portability of a full-function, one-floppy word
processor--especially when I'm forced to fuss and fiddle to bring my home
office and work office installations into line with each other whenever
their respective accumulations of keyboard changes and new XPL routines
become too confusing.
