The problem with the installation program was that it searched all drives as part of its preparation process, and if a CD drive was installed but had no CD in it, the installation program hung up. You could solve the problem either by uninstalling the CD drive or by simply putting a formatted CD into it. If that's correct, it's not due to XP. Try doing the same install with a) no CD drive attached and b) with a CD drive attached and a valid disk of some kind in it. Couldn't hurt. |
