Norm and others,
this may or may not help, but there's a nifty program that will
modify the native keyboard map of Win95/98. ZDKeyMap can change any
standard key into any other key. I use it just to convert Caps Lock
to Ctrl on my laptops. You could reassign key conflicts in Win while
preserving your Xy keybd. Might even be worth experimenting to see
what happens when KeyMap reassigns the same key to a key.
ZDKeyMap is freeware on zdnet.com. (The description on the zdnet
menu says it needs w95, but it also works fine on two company laptops
with w98.)
