Oh, yeah, good old xcopy32.

Does this xcopy32 command create a bootable hard drive?

There's a lot of discussion in the usenet archives about this, one of which
leads to a page http://navasgrp.home.att.net/tech/clone_copy.htm which
lays out the arguments against xcopy32.

Otherwise, it sounds like a very attractive option.
