Carl di Stefano has moved the subject from unbreakable blocks to desirable
features. Let me mention one that could solve his problem, that it might not
be too late to include in the word-processor form of Smartwrite.

One could find elegant solutions to all sorts of problems if it were
possible to embed XPL programs in particular files, in particular, in
templates. This should not be hard to do; all sorts of word processors, from
PC-Write to Word Perfect, have done it. It makes it unnecessary to keep and
keep track of large numbers of tiny programs hogging space in a macro
directory, and allows for customized versions of the same program for
different templates.
