The problem is not new. The bug existed also in the 4.12 version, running
under both Win 3.1 or Win 95.
When this irritating problem happens, try this work around:
1 switch to expanded display (ctrl-F8)
2 type one character, then delete it to have again your original text
3 return to your working display (ctrl-F8 again)
It works well.
