Converting files to RTF?

I posed this question a couple years ago and got a few responses/ I
solved the problem, but I can't remember how.
I have more old files from XyWrite II+ I'd like to convert, to a generic
RTF file would be fine. I'm still behind the times, but this computer
uses Windows XP. Should I try out the solution(s) proposed once before,
or should I do something different? I'm not sure what I did, but I may
have followed this initial suggestion.

Greetings. I have a large archive of old files written with XyWrite II + back
in the stone age of DOS. I would like to convert these old files to rich text
format (*.rtf). Is there a program or utility I can use which will accomplish
this?
Is the stone age over? I hadn't heard....
Here's my suggestion: Visit XyWWWeb,http://users.datarealm.com/xywwweb/, and use
your browser's Find function (Ctrl-F) to search for "filters". Then follow the
link for detailed instructions.
If you have questions along the way, come back here and we'll try to help.
