O.K., for the record, and in case anyone else may be curious, here is the answer, now showing up after I have re-created a couple of these templates. They reside in a file called NB-Env.Ini, which is to be found in the NB program tree under \Users\Default. It may not help this time, since I think these successive Beta installs wiped out what I had before, but now I can back that file up in future.
Maybe even more so than with Xy, they have a system for how things are done / stored. One just has to get acquainted with what that system is.

Why not do a search *.* for some string that would be semi-unique to them?
Even if there are 40 false positives, it might just get it for you.
