Give a little more detail. Are you running in a Full-Screen DOS box (i.e. a
text-mode session), or in a window in the GUI?

What, really, do you need to install? Why not just ZIP up your old Xy4DOS v4.017
setup and move it over to the NT machine in one piece? The Install program is
trying to sense things about the OpSys which it doesn't know how to detect under
NT, so it may be doomed to fail. But you don't need it either, as long as you
still have your old installation.

What are the symptoms of instability? In what situations does EDITOR freeze?
