≪What transpires at this meeting must not leak out.≫
I wonder how many people realize just what's so odd about that? Everyone
uses "transpire" as a (useless, IMO) synonym for "happen". But
etymologically, and hence originally, it meant, precisely, "leak out".
Some of the ones about science and learning reminded me of Peter
Meurin's more pointed "Specialists are men [homines, not viri] who know
more and more about less and less and will end up knowing everything
about nothing." Which I am often tempted to paraphrase thus: The
products of our modern "educational" system know less and less about
more and more, and will end up knowing nothing about everything.
Sorry. End of rant.
