How to change Label (LB) indicator?

I often use the command "LB" to insert hidden text or comments as an
internal reminder which I do not want to get printed like footnotes.
On screen, the label indicators start with an uppercase "3" or -
in rare cases (after having temporarily switched into graphics mode) -
with an uppercase "n" before showing the first three letters of the
label text. I am wondering whether it is possible to change this very
first character of the label indicator, i. e. the "3" or "n",
respectively. Has anyone ever tried to do so?

Considering the abovementioned behaviour, my first guess is that the
sign might be defined in the printer files, my second guess would be
that one has to adjust editor.exe with an hex editor. Any experiences
someone would like to share with me?
