As I suspected, it appears that the second dialog box that asks
you which file you want to open should only come up if the
filename in the text box is different from the one you have
highlighted in the list. This could occur if you highlight a
file and then place your cursor in the text field and type a
different file name.

I will keep you informed if there is an easy fix you can apply
yourself in advance of the next maintenance release.
