On the long filename issue, I added:
Win95LFN=Yes
to the 4DOS.INI that's in VDOS-LFN, but still don't get long filenames in
XyWrite. You ask what happens with the DOS DIR command. I don't know how
to get that using vDos, other than by shelling out from XyWrite. When I
do, I see the long file name of Program Files in the column on the
extreme right. I've posted a screenshot at:

Is that what you wanted?
Thanks so much for your help and for vDos-lfn!

Harry
Hi Harry,
If you do a DIR of C: from the vDos-lfn command line (not from within
XyWrite) and cannot see long file names, please make sure the line
"Win95LFN=Yes" is present in the file 4DOS.INI located in
the same directory as vDos-lfn.exe. In this case both LFNs and SFNs will
be listed with the DOS DIR command. If you still cannot see LFNs, could
you please upload a screenshot of the DIR command so I can check it too?
Thanks.

After I added the drive-aliases I needed, the installation of vDOS-lfn on

The only odd thing is that it's not using long file names! That is, when
I
do a DIR of C:, I see progra~1 instead of Program Files.
Am I doing something wrong?
