XY 4.17 DOS

I have to agree with Robert Holmgren's observation that 4.017 DOS is "probably . . . the
cleanest, most reliable vesion of XyWrite ever produced."

 There are some bugs:

 a. Column Tables are difficult to work with, and most of the time work miserably if at
all. This feature needs to be redesigned and recoded from scratch.

 b. Formatted "Page-Line" view doesn't always work properly: In some situations, which I
have never been able to replicate, the screen does not accurately reflect the document
(text may disappear, or appear in the wrong place, or the screen does not update). The
cursor position shown on the screen is not always where the cursor really is.

I put these (and a few other things) in the category of minor annoyances, and can live
with or do without them. It appears that they will never be fixed; 4.017 is now one year
old and TTG seems to have determined to end the DOS program at that rev and go on to other
things.

Fortunately, this list provides plenty of new things to learn almost every day, and XY DOS
should be a good writing tool for years to come.
