It was a pretty lame joke.

Well, what do you know? But that does look as if it's some sort of an
overrunning situation, doesn't it? One needs to force an end to the
quotation-removal process before beginning the sortation. But variations
on "Wait" or "pause" or error trapping don't do it; moving the cursor
does. And using BC...XC would accomplish that, so that's why that works.
So what is the mysterious power of the CML? It must affect some area of
memory, possibly doing some sort of garbage collection or forced-end
routine, hmm?
