It's called the HomePlug Networking Spec, and it was (fairly
recently) updated to achieve greater speeds than the original
could manage. But gigabit Ethernet and Wireless (i.e., that
108.soemthing a/b/g/n spec that is behind wireless acesss points
and hotspots) more or less upstaged it.

effort to use powerlines for Internet access too, such as Robert
was talking about (the original HomePlug spec was just for
internal networking), called BPL (Broadband Power Line)
