Rene von Rentzell "would buy such a contraption" as a "Xy5" that was
debugged and had new conversion modules "immediately", and is pretty sure
he can get another dozen here to agree.
He only has eleven more to look for. I'd buy it. [Yes, Rene, we agree
again!]
But, while we can hypothesize to our heart's content about why TTG seems
uninterested in polishing the product it already has--whether perhaps they
think this might lessen the appeal of "Smart Words"--I get the strong
impression that updates to conversion modules would either be up to Inso
Corp (who have taken over Word for Word from Adobe) or require that TTG
persuade one of Inso's very few competitors both to add the XyWrite format
and to license the result to them. As the latter seems improbable, perhaps
we should be nudging Inso rather than TTG.
Now, we're lucky to have an Inso employee among us. Well, Tim, I'd buy a
new version of WfW (under whatever name) if it provided for the latest
formats (as it would) and XyWrite.
