Jane,
I concur with Peter Evans that screen res. is probably the issue. Your res. is
probably set so high that the display is hard to read. (Personally I don't
really see any need for screen res . > 800 x 600 unless you're doing heavy
graphics stuff.)
Oh: In case you don't know how to drop down to 800 x 600 now that you have been
freed from the dungeon of Win 3.1, this might be helpful. If you do, no point
in reading on.
1. Go to the desktop.
2. Right click anywhere on the disktop where an icon ain't.
3. A menu appears.
4. Click on properties.
5. Click on settings.
At that point a dialog box will appear that will show how to adjust screen
resolution. And colors. There are other cool things you can do with the
properties settings too. Have fun!
