There doesn't seem to be great interest here in printing, but there's a simpler (and what should have been an obvious) way to print with Winprint then previously suggested.
There's no need to instruct xywrite to print to file. To the config.txt add the line
LPT1 = DUMMY
and set Winprint to monitor the file "#LPT1.asc " in the vDos directory. Then print normally with the TY command. Since vDos always creates this #LPT1.asc file when a print command is issued, there's no need for another print to file instruction. If the "Dummy" line above isn't added, this method will still work, but a dosprinter dialogue box will also pop up, and will have to be cancelled.
As with vDos's dosprinter utility, it takes a few seconds with this method for a TY command to reach the printer. Only printing to file within xywrite, as previously suggested, will get instantaneous results.
