If you can't display underlining on-screen, shell to DOS and run
UNDERLN.EXE. (If you don't have UNDERLN.EXE, I'll attach it to an E-mail).
If words are underlined on-screen, but the printer won't produce
underscored words on paper, then check your loaded .PRN file (I use
HPDJ560C.PRN, the most recent DeskJet PRiNter file, with an H-P 660C) for
two statements. First, in the PT=1 stanza, you should find:
MD UL=(*+UNDERLINE)
Second, in the Attribute Definitions, you should find:
AT:UNDERLINE
AT<#&dD
AT>#&d@
ET
where the pound sign "#" above is replaced by a genuine 1-byte Ascii-27 or
1Bhex (I've replaced it here because an Ascii-27 won't survive the trip via
some Unix servers). Now, the factory-issue HPDJ560C.PRN is set up this
way, so you shouldn't really be experiencing any problem. What do you see
with the words that should be underscored? Nothing at all (entire word
missing), or word sans underscore, or does "word" appear, or --
what? How about italics, bold, etc?
