Re: OS/2 And Procomm

Well, I just solved the ProComm-OS/2 problem 5 minutes ago; I didn't have to
resort to the extremes you did. The problem wasn't COM4 per se (you're right,
you *can* configure COM3 and COM4 via arguments to COM.SYS in CONFIG.SYS).
What was IRQing OS/2 was the fact that my COM4 was sharing an Interrupt ReQuest
with another device -- another multitasking no-no. The out-of-the-box
documentation -- which leaves much to be desired from a "power user's"
perspective -- actually was quite helpful here. I had to move the jumper on my
modem so that it uses an IRQ not used anywhere else in the system (IRQ5 in my
case); ProComm's set-up facility had to be informed, of course. I just now did
it; it works like a charm -- as evidenced by the fact that I'm writing this
message under OS/2! Cheers.
