Oh, god, the Teleram - I used one of those pieces of crap in a suburban bureau of the (Baltimore) News American back in the mid-1970s - rewriting stories five, six, seven times a night for a year until we figured out the static electricity problem. Then we'd touch a metal table before sitting down to write, which helped but not a lot - the old Teleram would always find a way to do us in.
