Y'all, Further to two recent suggestions about accented characters: 1) Add instructions such as the sample below to your keyboard file: TABLE=CTRL+SHIFT 30=à 31=á 32=ä 33=â 36=î 37=û 38=ù 46=ç 49=ñ 50=Ñ and 2) memorize the ALT SHIFT keypad codes for the ASCII characters you need most. The missing link would seem to be that you need 2) in order to add the characters you want to your keyboard file in 1). In case anyone should not have this already, I include an excerpt from the Xy iii+ reference manual which lists the ALT SHIFT codes for common accented characters. Maybe this will help someone.To type an ASCII character into text or *.kbd: press and hold ALT SHIFT, type the appropriate number on the numpad: - 196 (long dash) ' 96 (accent grave) ´ 39 (accent acute) ^ 94 (circumflex) ° 248 (degree sign) ¡ 173 (upside down exclamation) ¿ 168 Å 143 Æ 146 æ 145 Ä 142 Å 143 Ç 128 É 144 Ñ 165 Ö 153 Ü 154 à 133 á 160 â 131 ä 132 å 134 ç 135 è 138 é 130 ê 136 ë 137 ì 141 í 161 î 140 ï 139 ñ 164 ò 149 ó 162 ô 147 ö 148 ù 151 ú 163 û 150 ü 129 ÿ 152 Attachment: ascii-codes.pdf
