Ah, I see. My issue was that when my programs exit, they call CLEARSGTS
(for the S/Gs above 100 that I often use), and that wipes out any prompt I
have had the program write. Not a big deal, because what I've been doing is
using the CM line to display what normally would be prompts.

Generically and across the board? Sadly, no. You can capture the
last error message (note the backslash "\" before "@01" to display
the error *message* associated with the numeric error *code*

or the *default* PRompt-line MessaGe:

or the number of changes made by the last successful CH|CI|CV
command:
~~>~+"_changes"~>~
or the results of the last WC (Word Count) command:
~~>~+"_words"~>~
but not every PRompt falls into those categories. There's a whole
slew of fleeting informational PRompts that cannot be stored to a
S/G.
