May I suggest you take a look at WordPort, an alternative set of
conversion filters that fully supports XyWrite 4? It's published by

(24-hour): (716)-383-8428 (that's the data from my present copy, which is
fairly old; there's a newer 32-bit version, and I know they have a
Website, but cannot lay hands on the URL just now). It has a few bugs: my
current version doesn't correctly render XyWrite's em dash to
WordPerfect's, and I think it also gets one of the smart quotes wrong,
but I called it to their attention a couple of years ago, so one hopes
they got it fixed.
