The problem appears to be that W7 is a 64-bit operating system.
Any chance that it can be converted to 32-bit? Anyone know?
It is available in both 32 and 64. They aren't interchangeable. If
you are not doing a clean install, you cannot upgrade 32 Vista
(keeping all your settings, etc.) to 64 Win 7. Since I have never
been able to face reinstallation, and indeed still have some installs
left over from Win 3.1 days, I chose to upgrade to 32 Win 7, even
though my laptop is capable of running 64.
