Ah, yes. That "needless Alexandrine" is a good example of what I'm
looking for: he describes the Alexandrine in a line that is indeed an
Alexandrine.

It must have been 20 years back that a colleague in a professional
association (nameless out of possibly misplaced charity) produced what
she claimed were humorous "Popean couplets" and got them published in its
newsletter. Well, they had the end-stopped rhymes, but no meter
whatsoever.
