I think this is interesting, and every crumb of knowledge helps, but
the real puzzle is why, irrespective of DOS CP setting, some of us get
one VA for LA and others another, when we all--apparently--have the
same value in DF LA=. But we should probably wait til the holidays are
over to pursue this further.
