Put these items into your keyboard file in the TABLE=CTRL+ALT
section:
101=ni,db
103=ni,de
Save and reload the keyboard file. (Don't know its name? Type
VA/NV $KB on the command line.)
Now when you press Ctrl+Alt+gray left arrow, your cursor will
jump to the beginning of a defined text block. If you press
Ctrl+Alt+gray right arrow, the cursor will jump to the end of
the block.
Other use: need an absolute place to return to, even if you've
added text? (Bookmarks are relative -- they jump to a specific
number of characters from the top of the file.) Press F3 twice
to put an invisible zero-length text selection where the cursor
is. Then go do your editing (just don't use text selection -- a
major limitation!). When you want to go back to the original
spot, press Ctrl+Alt+left or right gray arrow. Bingo! You're
back home again. And you haven't left any hidden markers in the
file that you might forget to clean up later.
Of course, you can put the DB and DE function calls on any other
key. The NI is needed with many ALT keys to prevent them from
activating stuff in DOS. The NI is harmless if it appears where
it's not needed.
