In December 2003 there was a discussion of SEparator tables
in Xy4-DOS. I have subsequently done some research, and I
discovered that the actual default SEparator table is
substantially different than the one listed in Customization
Guide p. 52, or those discussed in the December thread.
Accordingly, I have revised the SEparator table posted at
XyWWWeb (search, Ctrl-F, for the single instance of
"separator table" on the main XyWWWeb page). I have also
included, within that file (SEPARATR.PRN), a true SEparator
table for CodePage 1252 (ANSI), which is completely
different than the SE table for CodePages 437 and 850.
NOTE that you do not need to install any SEparator table if
you do not wish to _modify_ it! Just use the built-in
table. But this does NOT apply to users of ANSIfied
XyWrite; they should download and install the table for CP
1252.
To determine whether you _want_ to modify the table, you
need to download it and look at it. I cannot reproduce
the characters themselves in an Email message, but the
built-in default table consists of these character numbers:
0 3 8 9 10 13 26 27 32 33 34 40 41 43 44 45 46 47 58 59 60
61 62 63 91 92 93 94 96 123 124 125 126 127 156 158 159 168
173 174 175 176 177 178 179 180 185 186 187 188 191 192 193
194 195 196 197 200 201 202 203 204 205 206 217 218 219 220
221 223 238 239 240 241 242 244 245 246 247 248 249 250 251
252 253 254 255
