Yes, Win98 could be part of the problem. Another of our band of
doughty survivors who is using 4.018 with Win95 can no doubt tell
us that.
Keep in mind that you will not only need, in your XY directory, a
file called .log (not log.), but you will also
need a line in your startup.int that says
BX login Q2
