In a bee's eye

Tim Baehr says:
-> ... you can fool Xy4DOS into accepting *any* "delta" or even just the
-> opening chevron by setting default BI=1 (that's "bee eye=one"). BI
-> is the name of a customer XyQuest customized XY III+ for so that
-> they could use deltas for their own stuff. It works in XyWin, too.

A default setting would be a great idea -- if it worked. When I
put the cursor on a nonsense delta in Page-Line view (e.g.,
≪NUTS≫), it gets stuck there permanently (none of the cursor
functions work); you have to toggle into eXPanded view to get
unstuck. In draft view, when I delete a block, the cursor jumps
back to the last nonsense delta -- wherever it happens to be.
Put the cursor on the delta and repeatedly execute func CR; the
cursor alternates between the delta and one position to the
right. The only place that BI=1 seems to work is -- surprise! --
in eXPanded view, where of course you don't need it. I'm
speaking here of Xy4DOS; XyWin yielded identical behavior. In
III+, however, the results were good -- to be expected since I
presume that "BI" paid good money for this. Like I say, a
*great* idea -- well worth ironing out the bugs in 4 and Win.
