Scratch frame METAPAD. I've gone generic.

The framename has been renamed to the much shorter XE (for eXternal
Editor), and it will invoke any Windows editor you like, the default
being Notepad. If you want to designate Metapad, Edipad, or another
program as your external editor of choice, add user variable
XE_Use_Editor to XYWWWEB.REG and edit it to indicate the full path
and filename of your chosen editor. (Sample REG entries are included
in the encoded block below. "Un-comment" -- i.e., remove the initial
semi-colon -- for the line corresponding to your chosen editor, fix
the d:\path as necessary, and SAve XYWWWEB.REG. If you do nothing to
XYWWWEB.REG, frame XE will use Notepad.)

The U2 frame's mode of operation has been reversed from before. The
default action now -- command XE -- is to open the current
XyWrite file or DeFined block in the external editor. No special
framename is needed, just use XE. If you want to open the external
editor with a blank new screen, issue special framename XE/
(note final forward slash "/"), or issue XE in a Xy window
with no file open.
