Re: Re Linux word processors

the main thing about dsr was its handling of "headers". When your
writing a 300+ page (single spaced) document in which 3 out of 4 paragraphs
begin with something like "3.1.4.1.5.9.6.5.p(i)", you

need a fair amount of brute strength-- which was lacking in the pc
world in the mid 80's. On the VAX-780, dsr could format such a document,
generate a table of contents, and toss it all up for display and correction
on a terminal in about five minutes.

I wouldn't say dsr was extremely sophisticated or much fun to use,
but some things it did very well.

Why do you say that? On a quick read-through,
dsr's commands seem confined pretty much to
garden-variety formatting.
