Concerning the various ways people cut and past in and out of Xywrite:

My thoughts about cutting and pasting in and out of Xywrite:
I also don't have the toolbar showing, and I also DON'T use the mouse. Sorry, Harry, but except for
when I want to paste out of Xywrite (which is a very rare event), I do everything by keyboard.
First, I use Xywrite in Window mode, but have set it up to comepletely fill my screen, using
Textmode to get the necessary screen size, and DOSFon to provide me extra fonts to fit. I have also
disabled my toolbar to give me even more screen space.
If I wish to paste into Xywrite, I first cut the text out of whatever Window program. I almost
always do this by keyboard. To select, I scroll down holding the shift key and any of the arrow
keys. I can also use shift with other combinations, such shift-ctrl-end (to select everything to the
end of the document), or shift-page-down (to select text a page at a time).
After making my selection, I press alt-edit-c (others do this by pressing ctrl-c) to put it in the
clipboard.
Now I return to Xywrite, put my cursor where I want the selection to be inserted. I press
alt-spacebar and the Windows menu appears. I then press the letter E (to choose Edit), followed by
the letter P (to choose Paste). Voila, my selection pops into place.
To paste out of Xywrite, I press alt-spacebar to get the Windows menu to appear, press the letter E
(to choose Edit), then press enter (Mark is already highlighted when you choose Edit). From here I
unfortunately am forced to take my hands off the keyboard and use the mouse. Yech.
Clicking on icons and menus is the last thing a person using Xywrite wants to do!
