Re: Xy to Word

I just converted my big Xy 3.55 ms into Word 6.0. Here's how I did it.

First, in XyWrite, I had distinguished the different levels of headings
with tabs: no tabs (Roman caps) for level 1, 1 tab for level 2, 2 tabs for
level 3, etc. I printed it out, and it looked OK, but it was all in Press
Roman monospaced.

I replaced the Roman caps with "

" (an arbitrary string, following html convention), the 1 tab with "

", etc. Then I imported it as a file into Word. I replaced

with Heading 1 from the Format->Style menu, etc., down to Heading 4. You actually can search and replace a style in Word, even though you don't see visible coding as you do in Xy or WordPerfect. After a little cleaning up, it worked very well.
