XyWin installation under Vista

Please excuse the lack of a version number. Sensed I would need it when I wrote the message . . .

XyWin is an unknown to me. I was really fishing for thoughts that might help me decide whether or not to install it, and have a look for myself.

Original message:
"Will Updated XyWin ("Updated XyWin Install Files (5.0Mb) A modern (not diskette based!) install for XyWin, created in the late '90s by TTG and given to anyone who asked for it.") run under Vista Business SP1?
Has anyone successfully installed and run it under Vista?"

It is the version of XyWin offered for download under "Tools and Resources" at http://xywrite.com/.

Basically I am an information processor, who has used XyWrite 4 on the job, and at home. Have highly customized it with keyboard files, macros, unique user programs, dictionary files, and, of course, am accustomed to, and proficient with the operator interface of the DOS version.

My desktop has XyWrite 4.015 (DOS version) under Windows XP,  my laptop has Nota Bene Scholar's Workstation 8.0i under Vista.

I was just wondering if there might be some advantage for me in running both XyWin and Nota Bene under Vista on my laptop -- wondering if XyWin might let me get around faster in some of my old tasks than Nota Bene.

I sense it would be wise to bypass XyWin altogether, and to begin adjusting to Nota Bene under Vista.

I did not go as far as downloading it, and trying to get a version number. The 5 MB download is zipped, so I expect I would have to unzip the files to get a version number.
