RE: XY4 -> clipboard

I am sorry; this must have been discussed before, but I have only recently
taken to working with XY4 in a DOS window: How does go about pasting into
the Windoze clipboard from XY4?

Rene von Rentzell asked:

Frank Heydenrych answered:
>Real easy:

With XyWin running as a Win98 app, it is -- as I'm sure FH and RvR both
know -- easier still:
* highlight the text you want (using mouse or the vastly superior Xy
methods)
* paste highlighted text into the clipboard by Shft+Insert
* move over to the Windows app and insert the clipboarded text by Ctrl+V

It turns out that in XyWin, deleting the highlighted text by the Windows
method of Ctrl+X also pastes into the clipboard (though the clipboard isn't
affected if you've deleted by using the Delete key or Shft+F12). These
clipboard procedures don't seem to work with XY4DOS in a DOS window, which
is what RvR asked about. I seem to recall that RvR is implacably hostile to
XyWin. I agree that the program is deeply flawed; but I've been learning to
live with it since I moved to Win98. For some reason, since the move I can
no longer make XyDOS work properly under DOS proper [I suspect this failure
is my fault or Gates's, not Xy's]; and as between XyDOS in a DOS window
[within Win98] and XyWin itself, I don't see enough difference to justify
the inconvenience involved. For whatever reason, XyWin is a lot more stable
on my Pentium running Win98 than it was -- or had become -- on my old 486
with Win3.x.

Cheers
